Robert Rosenblatt
25 Years in the Trenches.
I’ve spent over two decades in the industry, from the polish and precision of ultra-fine dining to the grit of local pubs and bistros. I’ve lived through every crisis the business could throw at us: SARS, the 2003 Blackout, the 2008 market crash, and the 2020 pandemic. To me, this isn't just hospitality. The peers I worked with became my brothers and sisters and the owners who took a chance on me became my mentors.
I went back to school for Marketing and Business Administration and learned how to pair my street-smarts with the technical tools needed to keep restaurant doors open.
I didn’t go to school to learn how to run ads; I went to master how to influence through creative problem-solving.
The Science of "Yes"
In my 25 years on the floor, I realized that providing high-level service is actually a science. It’s about getting the right recommendation in front of the right guest, at the exact right moment, to trigger the right response. In the industry it’s called hospitality but in business it’s strategic conversion.
To me, science is the engine that drives trust. It’s the difference between a guest simply 'accepting' a wine pairing and a guest trusting you to curate an experience they’ll rave about for weeks. I use that same psychological insight, the science of why people say 'yes', to help FOH staff become trusted advisors and make recommendations quickly and naturally.
